Theresa E. Dillon, 64, of Nanticoke entered the heavenly realm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Born June 30, 1959, in Bristol, Bucks County, Theresa was a cherished daughter of Stanley and Lois Flynn Grabowski.
Theresa was a graduate of John S. Fine High School, class of 1977. Her journey began as a Certified Nursing Assistant, dedicating numerous years at Riverstreet Manor in Wilkes-Barre and the former Guardian Healthcare Center in Sheatown. Eager to expand her horizons, Theresa earned her Bachelor's degree from Wilkes University.
Her love for education led her to become a substitute teacher in Northwest area schools. She was also an adjunct teacher of English at Luzerne County Community College. Until her retirement in 2020, Theresa served as a site supervisor at Step By Step.
Theresa was a devoted member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish and she shared her spiritual devotion by teaching CCD at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Along her life's journey, Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, John Dillon, and siblings Angela Selecky, Thomas, and James Grabowski.
She is survived by her loving sons, Edward Dillon and his wife, Deborah, of Kingston; and Joseph Dillon of Nanticoke, as well as her cherished granddaughter, Athena. Theresa will forever remain in the hearts of her siblings: Ted Grabowski and his wife, Beverly, of Boerne, TX; Donna Grabowski of Hanover Township; Joanne Grabowski of Wyoming; Catherine Abberton and her husband, Peter, of West Yorkshire, England; and John Grabowski of Wanamie. She also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews, and her aunts, Wanda (Wendy) Grabowski of Paramus, NJ, and Elizabeth Powers of Houston, TX.
Funeral services to honor Theresa will commence on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke, officiated by Rev. Brian F. Van Fossen.
Theresa will find her final resting place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nanticoke.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing and visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, coming together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose light will forever glow in our hearts.
