Theresa Dzwileski Christian Goodman, 87, of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully and comfortably Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at her home following a period of declining health.

Born January 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Hoschinski Dzwileski. Theresa resided in Nanticoke her entire life.

She was last employed at Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 27 years until her retirement. She previously worked at RCA, Mountain Top and for General Cigar Company, Nanticoke early in life.

She was a member of First English Baptist Church, Nanticoke.

Theresa enjoyed swimming with her family and could always be found lying on a raft in the pool working on her tan in the summer. She also loved playing Pinochle with family members. Theresa was a wonderful Polish cook and baker. Most holidays you could find her in the kitchen baking up a storm, as well as preparing the holiday meals, which she loved to host. Christmas being her favorite of all. Over the years, some of her best companions were the many animals she and her daughter had taken in. Recently, those being her feline sidekicks that continuously kept her entertained and on her toes.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph L. Christian in 1982 and William J. Goodman in 2012; a daughter Christine Christian Brown; a sister, Dolores Dzwileski and a brother, Walter Dzwileski.

Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca Rinehamer and Patricia Suchowierski, both of Nanticoke; grandchildren, Christopher/Kassalyn, Frank, Amber (Steve), Jeffrey and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Christine, Stephanie and Elijah; a stepson Bill Goodman and stepdaughter Barbara Lukowski and families; nieces, Cathy Ludorf (David) and Karen Chapura (Guy) as well as great-nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call for a period of visitation on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.

The family will have private memorial service with pastor Kenneth Turley, officiating followed by interment in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township.

The family asks that rather than floral arrangements, please make a donation to Linda Kotch for her cat rescue from which Theresa adopted multiple cats. Donations can be given to the family to be delivered to Linda in Theresa's Memory.
