Rose M. Swanberry, 70, of Sheatown section of Newport Township, passed away unexpectedly Monday January 17, 2022 at her home.

Born February 7, 1951, she was a daughter of the late John and Rose (Lipinski) Rasmus. She graduated from Nanticoke High School and resided in the area her entire life.

Rose worked for Christy Fashion Glen Lyon and last at Koehler Brightstar in Hanover Township until retiring in 2003.

The most important part of her life was her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she adored.

She was the last member of her immediate family, being preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kimberly Higgins and husband, Aaron of Nanticoke; her son, Shane Swanberry and wife, Lindsay of Mystic CT; granddaughters, Jessica (Brooke), Sara (Jeff), Kendall and Hailey; great-grandchildren, O'lyvia, Jeffrey, and Jaxon; many nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs, Jake and Belle.

A private service was held from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, Nanticoke, with the Rev. Timothy G. Hall, pastor of Nebo Baptist Church, officiating.

There will be no public viewing or calling hours.
