Ronald R. Sokoloski Jr., 47, of Nanticoke, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville following an illness.
Born December 11, 1978 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Lucretia Verdekal Sokoloski, of Hanover Township and the late Ronald R. Sokoloski Sr.
Ron was a graduate of E. L. Meyers High School, class of 1997. From a young age, began working with his father in the family business, East Main Appliance, Nanticoke. Over the years he held several positions, including working at Nardone Brothers, Hanover Township. He also spent several years as a cook at the former Laurels Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston. Most recently he worked as a carrier, delivering the Citizens’ Voice newspaper until his health no longer permitted.
Ron’s favorite hobbies included playing basketball with his son. He enjoyed playing video games and reading comic books. He loved watching movies, especially with Clint Eastwood, Chuck Norris and Charles Bronson, and was also a fan of Star Trek, and John Wick. Most of all he liked spending quiet evenings with his fiancee, Stephanie watching Law and Order and Chicago PD.
He had a deep passion for the Washington Commanders and liked to watch the Mets baseball. Ron will be remembered for his sense of humor, and most of all, valued the simple pleasure of the time he spent with those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald R. Sokoloski Sr., and his beloved grandparents.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancee, Stephanie Andrasko; a son, Nicholas Sokoloski; a daughter, Kathleen Millett-Sokoloski; brothers, Khristopher Tagnani and wife, Rose, and Steve Tagnani; a sister, Julia Shortz and husband, Tim; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Viewing and visitation hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
A Blessing Service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. James E. McGahagan, officiating.
Interment and Rite of Committal will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
