Rita Yohey, 85, formerly of Berwick and Mocanaqua, passed away Friday afternoon November 21, 2025 at Birchwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Nanticoke. She was the widow of Barry L. Yohey, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2021 after 60 years of marriage.

Born September 27, 1940 at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Victoria Karamon Yendrzeiwski. Residing in Mocanaqua most of her life, she asttended the Shickshinny schools until her Senior year, and graduated from the former Newport Township High School. She also belonged to St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua for many years before moving to Berwick.

Prior to retiring, she was employed at Country Cousins, Mocanaqua. Rita enjoyed reading, camping and spending the winters in Haines City, Florida for many years.

Surviving is her son, Barry Yohey and wife, Jacqueline of Alden; granddaughters, Kelsey Perry (Ryan) of Sweet Valley, and Morgan Yohey (Tyler), Charleston, SC ; great granddaughter, Iylah Perry; sisters, Alice Dalberto, and Rosalie Petroski, both of Berwick; a brother, Alan Yendrzeiwski and wife, Debbie, of Alden; a sister-in-law, Georganne DeMelfi, of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rita's family extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Celebration Villa, Peckville; Birchwood Nursing Center; and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the care they provided.

A Blessing Service will be held Monday, December 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. Philbert Takyi-Nketiah, officiating.

Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
