Peter J. Pecaitis

   Peter J. Pecaitis, 81, passed away Thursday morning, December 25, 2025, a patient at Embassy of Scranton.

   Born November 29, 1945, in Wilkes- Barre, he was a son of the late Frank and Sophie Tarankas Pecaitis.

   Peter had served as a police officer for Hanover Township and prior to his retirement was a bus driver for Luzerne County Transportation Authority for 30 years.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Cecelia Panasewicz Pecaitis on December 5th, 2025; as well as sisters and a brother.

   A Blessing Service and Rite of Committal will be held Wednesday, January 7th at 10 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Cemetery Chapel, Sheatown. The Rev. Brian F. Van Fossen, pastor of St. Faustina Kowalska parish, Nanticoke, will officiate.

   Anyone wishing to pay their respects may visit at the cemetery chapel Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
