Obituary

Patrick J. Heffron, 77, of Plymouth Township and formerly Hanover section of Nanticoke, passed away Sunday evening, April 24, 2022.

Born September 3, 1944 in Luzerne, he was the son of the late John J. and Margaret (Curley) Heffron. Patrick graduated from West Side Central Catholic High School in 1962 and proudly served his country from 1963 to 1966 with the U.S. Army. He served in Europe during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Specialist 5.

On September 9, 1967, he married the former Christine Polifka the love of his life. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2019, following fifty-two years of marriage.

Early in life at the age of thirteen, he would hitch-hike to Irem Temple golf course to work as a caddy. He worked at Dana Perfumes, Mountain Top, before beginning a long career as Manager of several automobile dealerships in the area. He was with Bruni Auto Sales, West Nanticoke for over twenty years. Pat also managed others including Sun Buick, Clarks Summit, Goodwin Volkswagon, Larksville, and Ertley's in Dickson City. Although he had a successful career outside the home, he excelled the most as a devoted husband, amazing father, and a dynamic "Poppy Heff". He will be deeply missed at the sidelines of every game or family event because he never missed a single one as a parent and grandfather of 49 years.

He and Christine were members of the former St. Joseph's Church, Hanover section of Nanticoke, as well as the former St. Mary's Church, Wanamie, until joining St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville.

In addition to his beloved wife, Christine, he was preceded by a grandson, Patrick Mark Heffron; a sister, Mary Ella McEvoy; and nephews John and Jason McEvoy.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Kimberly Heffron and partner, Jennifer Jarrett, and Patrick Heffron and wife, Holi of Plymouth Township; grandchildren, Devland and Shaylee Heffron; McEvoy nieces and nephews, Melissa, Mollie, Jimmy and Joel.
