Nina Lee Matzoni, 69, of Nanticoke, formerly of Mocanaqua, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, May 28, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Jennie Pacchetti Matzoni.

Nina was a graduate of the Greater Nanticoke Area High School. She became one of the first female UPS delivery drivers in Scranton, where she worked for over fifteen years. She later came back to her alma mater, working in various roles including; transportation assistant, attendance officer, golf coach, assistant girls' softball coach, and even working security for many of the schools' events. In addition to her numerous roles, she was president of the school union for support staff for many years. Nina had a great love for her career in the district. She in turn was tremendously loved and highly respected by the students and staff.

She is survived by her sister, Sandra Siepietoski, Flagler Beach, FL., and her nephews, Mark Siepietoski and his wife Katherine, and Michael John Siepietoski.

A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 12th, at Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with the Reverend Louis T. Kaminski officiating. Friends and Family may call for visitation from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service.
