Master Chief Yeoman David A. Trzeciak, US Navy (ret.), 68, of Middleboro, Massachusetts and formerly Nanticoke, passed away August 22, 2020.
Born August 26, 1951 in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Albert and Matilda (Thomas) Trzeciak. He graduated from Nanticoke High School, class of 1969 and attended Kings College.
David joined the U.S. Navy in 1970 and honorably served for a military career of 32 years. He was a Vietnam war veteran serving in Saigon as well as the Persian Gulf Wars. Among many other awards, he earned the Navy Commendation and Navy Achievement Medals, Vietnam Service and Armed Forces Service Medals, Naval Reserve Sea Service and Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbons, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was selected from the entire Navy and awarded the Service Reservist Commendation. He was a Command Master Chief and proud of his Service Warfare Specialist qualification.
David was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans organizations. In his younger years he was a member of the local band "Polka Dynamite".
Surviving are his wife, Tanya; children, Charles Trzeciak and Tanya Sims; grandchildren, Casandra and Michael; a brother, Ronald Trzeciak and wife, Linda; niece, Rhonda Nelson and nephew Brian Trzeciak and great-nephews, Maxwell Nelson and Jack and Cole Trzeciak.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 1 to 2 p.m.at Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke. American Legion Post #495 of Shickshinny will accord military funeral honors at 2 p.m.
The family requests that those attending please wear a mask and social distance.
