It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Bennetski, 81, of the Hanover section of Nanticoke, who peacefully left this world on February 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born January 24, 1945, Mary Ann was a daughter of the late John and Marion Garnick Petrochko. She graduated from Nanticoke High School and had been employed at Roxanne of Pa Swimsuit Factory until its closing in 1997. She went on to enjoy many years working first for Orloski’s Quik Mart and then for Cocoa Hut, both on Middle Road, Nanticoke.
She was a member of Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hanover section of Nanticoke, and a member of the Friendship Bingo Club. Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
Mary Ann was married to Bernard Bennetski for 50 years until his passing on May 5, 2017. She lived a life filled with love, generosity, and unwavering strength. She dedicated herself to her family, raising her daughters and granddaughter with great care, guiding them with wisdom and grace.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Bernard, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Petrochko.
She is survived by her daughters; Lynn Hostetler and husband, Adam, of Lebanon; and Lisa Marcincavage and husband, Albin, of Bear Creek; a granddaughter, Lily Marcincavage; sisters, Joan Cominsky and companion, Robert Matosky, and Suzanne Harvey, both of Nanticoke; a brother, Michael Petrochko and wife, Paula of Lake Mary, FL; and nieces and nephews.
