Mary Ann “Nancy” Labenski, 92, of Nanticoke, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Lakewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Sheatown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Labenski, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage until his death on August 20, 2010.

Born November 4, 1933 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and Grace McAndrew Dettmore. She graduated from James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1951.

Early in life, Nancy was employed in the office at Springbrook Water, later becoming Pennsylvania Gas and Water. In 1958, she stopped working outside of the home and devoted her life to raising her family. In 1980, she went back to work employed by Alta Products, Hanover Township, for several years until it’s closing.

A member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke, Nancy and Eugene were very active at St. Stanislaus and St. Francis parishes throughout the years.

In addition to her parents and husband, Eugene, she was preceded in death by her son, John Labenski on July 23, 2026; a brother, Joseph Dettmore and wife, Marie; and a sister, Kathryn Moss and her husband, Jim.

Surviving are children, Michael Labenski and wife, Kathy; David Labenski and wife, Cheryl; and Patricia Dennis and husband, Ronald, all of Nanticoke; daughter-in-law, Paula Labenski, of Nanticoke; grandchildren, Kimberly Jones (Sean), Kristin Woychio (Mike), Nicole Swicklik (Stephen), David Labenski, Jonathon Labenski, Matthew Labenski, and Samantha Jopling (Josh); great grandchildren, Madalyn and Ryan Michael Ropietski, and Scarlet Jones; a sister, Rosemary Sprau and husband, William of Orlando, FL; and nieces and nephews.

Christian Burial outside of Mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke, with the Rev. Brian F. Van Fossen, her pastor, officiating.

Viewing and visitation hours will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Interment and Rite of Committal will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Nanticoke.
