Testaguzza

Marino P. Testaguzza, 85, of Nanticoke, and formerly Hanover Township and Newport Township, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Birchwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Born on June 4, 1938 in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Dominic and Maria Morigi Testaguzza. He graduated from former Newport Township High School in 1957, and served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1961.
Marino was self-employed in the plumbing and heating business for many years, and later was a tradesman instructor and plumber and taught plumbing and heating at State Correctional Institute, Dallas.
He was last employed at Marion Terrace Apartments, Hanover Township, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska, Nanticoke, and previously the former St. Casimir's Church, Lynwood, where he served as an usher. He was also a former member and past president of Italian-American Club, Glen Lyon.
His wife, the former, Lorraine Poole, died on January 16, 1994. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Louise Skrip, Ellen Letizi, Julia Golanoski; and a brother, Louis Testaguzza.
Surviving are: daughter, Brenda Sokolowski and husband, Walter, Nanticoke; granddaughter Jamie Davis Schelling and husband, Christopher and great-granddaughter, Sophie, Spring Brook Township; long-time companion, Bernadine (Bernie) Supkoski, Nanticoke; daughter, Michelle Testaguzza, Sheatown, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marino was also very close with Heather Proctor and family, Karen McElwee, and Elaine Wall.
Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 East Broad Street, Nanticoke with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke with the Rev Brian F. Van Fossen, his pastor, as celebrant.
Interment, with military honors, will be in Italian Independent Cemetery, Glen Lyon.
Friends may call for viewing and visitation at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 AM until transferal to the church.
