Mariann C. Waselus

Mariann C. Waselus, 80, of Nanticoke, passed away Saturday evening, December 27, 2025, at North Penn Manor Assisted Living, Wilkes Barre, after a period of declining health.

Born April 6, 1945 in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sophia Prushinski Waselus. She attended Holy Trinity school, was a graduate of Marymount High School, class of 1963, and Wilkes-Barre Business School class of 1964.

Mariann worked for the Nanticoke Housing Authority as well as the Redevelopment Authority for over 30 years, and retired as Fiscal Supervisor. She was previously employed by the Mortgage Department at United Penn Bank, Wilkes Barre.

Mariann was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Church, later St. Faustina Parish, Nanticoke, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a devout Catholic her entire life.

She is survived by several cousins and friends.

Mariann’s family and friends would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff at North Penn Manor, and Allied Services Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during her stay there.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke, with the Rev. Brian F. Van Fossen, as celebrant. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church Friday morning.

There will be no public viewing or visitation.

Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Nanticoke.
