Margaret (Peggy) Cornell, 89, of Nanticoke, passed away Tuesday, August 9th, 2022 a patient at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born August 27, 1932 in Lehman, she was a daughter of the late William and Lily Stevens Williams. She was a graduate of Lake Lehman School.

Prior to retiring, Peggy was employed in the local garment industry for many years, and last as Sea Isle Sportswear, Wilkes-Barre. After retiring she kept active cooking and baking for her children's food businesses and was well known for her pies.

Her main interest in life was her family, and she loved time spent with them for dinners, parties and shopping. She also enjoyed going to the casino and playing the lottery. Peggy had a special connection to everyone she knew and loved sitting on her porch and friendship with her neighbors at Lexington Village. She was a faithful member of the former Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, now Faith Church, Nanticoke where she loved singing.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Rinehimer, Paul Swithers and Francis Cornell; great-grandchildren, Gracie Rinehimer and Patrick Mark Heffron; her siblings, Ernie, Billy, Eddie, and Bobby Williams; Ruth Briggs, Dorothy Moody, and Susan in infancy.

Surviving are her children; Gale Conrad and husband, Mark, Plymouth Township; Geary Rinehimer and wife, Tracey, Moosic; and John Rinehimer and wife, Donna, Hanover Township; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; Swithers and Cornell step-children and families; sisters; Louise Johnson, Lily Tomassacci, and Shirley Pierontoni, all of Nanticoke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, Inc., 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke, with Pastor Rodney Murphy, of Faith Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Edgehill Cemetery, West Nanticoke.

Viewing and visitation hours will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
