Louise J. Rakowski, 87, of Nanticoke, passed away Monday afternoon, May 13, 2024 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born September 21, 1936, in Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Louise Juba Kuless.

A graduate of Hanover Area High School, she went on to work in the local garment and cigar industry, and for Alta Products before becoming a loving homemaker.

Louise was a faithful member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with family at Lake Pine Crest, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great- granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a younger sister, Carol Radici.

Surviving is her loving husband, Ronald Rakowski, with whom she shared sixty-three years of marriage; a son, Robert Rakowski, Nanticoke; a daughter, Donna VanScoy and her husband, Kurt, of Newark, Delaware; grandchildren, Noah Rakowski, Alex VanScoy, and Bry Ann Fair; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Fair; a sister, Barbara Kelechowa; a brother, Frank "Butch" Kuless; a niece, Linda Kale and her husband, Kenny; and a great niece, Susan Thomas.

A Blessing Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.

Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Sheatown.

Friends may call for viewing and visitation hours from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
