Lillian A. Dewald, 78, of the Hanover section of Nanticoke passed away peacefully Saturday, April 12, 2025 surrounded by love at Allied Hospice Center, after an extended stay at Commonwealth Health, Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was married to Jimmy Dewald and shared 40 years until his passing on March 25, 2006.
A lifelong resident of Nanticoke, she was born July 21, 1946, a daughter of the late Albert and Viola Matulewski Brown. Lillian attended the Nanticoke schools and was employed by CertainTeed, Mountain Top prior to retirement.
Lillian enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, watching her game shows, completing word puzzles, talking on the phone with all her friends and family, and fishing.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, Jimmy, she was preceded in death by sisters; Ruth Levanda, Viola Shemanski, Elizabeth Bobbin, and Jacqueline Koslowski; as well as her fiancé, Kenneth Adams.
Surviving is a sister, Dorothy Crouse; brothers, Albert Brown and wife, Lynn, and William Brown and wife, Amelia; a brother-in-law, John Koslowski; as well as generations of nieces and nephews, who were blessed to have her as a special part of their lives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke, with pastor Joseph Roach of First Primitive Methodist Church, Nanticoke, officiating.
Interment will follow in Nanticoke Cemetery.
Viewing and visitation hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
