Leon Figlerski

Leon Figlerski, 90, formerly of Nanticoke, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 10,

2025 at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre where he resided for the past 6 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carol Jones, in 2006 after nearly 50 years

of marriage.

Born April 17, 1935 in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Henry and Clara Shon Figlerski. Leon graduated from Nanticoke High School.

Prior to retiring, he worked many years at Penn Footwear and later at Mercy Nursing Center.

Leon enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He was most happy working in his garden and listening to music. He also had a life long love of sports, and was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles….go Birds!

In addition to his parents, and his wife, Carol, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl

Figlerski, and sisters, Anita Shon, and Barbara Dembowski.

Surviving is his son, Robert Figlerski and wife, Lesli, of Melville, NY; Grandson, Ross Figlerski

and wife, Casey and great-grandson, Luca.

Leon’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff of River Street Manor who provided him great support and care for many years and Serenity Hospice who tended to his needs in the last days of his life.

Services will be held Monday at noon from Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad

Street, Nanticoke with Lori Robinson, chaplain with Serenity Hospice Care, officiating.

Viewing and visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery.
