Josephine R. Glowacki, RN, 89, of Nanticoke passed away Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025 at Lakewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Sheatown after being admitted on Tuesday.
She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 45 years, Theodore A. Glowacki in 2003.
Born July 8, 1936 in Dorrance, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Paulewicz Cybulski. At age 11 her family moved to Nanticoke. She was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and competed her training to become a registered nurse at the Nesbitt Hospital School of Nursing, Kingston.
In her early career, Josephine was employed at Nesbitt Hospital and the former Nanticoke State Hospital. After the years raising her family, she resumed nursing and was employed by Birchwood Nursing Center, Nanticoke. She retired as a Nursing Supervisor in the early 1990s.
She was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke and previously Holy Trinity Church prior to the consolidation of parishes. She enjoyed an active life up to her final years and loved taking bus trips, casinos, trips to any seashore, and shopping in thrift stores. She especially liked going for daily lunch at Austie's with her daughter, Joan.
In addition to her parents and husband, Theodore, she was preceded by her son, Theodore H. Glowacki on November 20, 2020.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Urbanski and her husband, Jay, with whom she last resided; a son, Atty. Joseph Glowacki and his wife, Jean, Nanticoke; 7 grandchildren, Ian Urbanski (Mallory), Atty. John Urbanski (Lauren), Mary Urbanski, Aaron Urbanski, Molly Urbanski, Austin Urbanski, and Theodore A. Glowacki; 2 great grandchildren, John Urbanski Jr. and Natalie Urbanski.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Dr. Wolanin and staff for the wonderful care and friendship shown to Josephine.
Funeral services will begin with prayers Monday at 9:30 a.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. Richard Gyansah-Tabiri, assistant pastor, as celebrant.
Entombment with Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery mausoleum, Hanover Township.
Viewing and visitation hours will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
