Joseph J. Maza, 74, of Nanticoke passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on April 15, 2025.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Edith Jones Maza. Surviving is his sister, Attorney Susan A. Maza.

Joseph graduated from Nanticoke High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Mansfield College and a Master's of Education from Bloomsburg College.

For most of his career, he was an elementary school teacher at Ross Township Elementary School in the Lake Lehman School District.

Joseph was a lifelong member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Alden where he served as an organist.

Joseph was a loving son and brother. He had a dry but witty sense of humor.

Joseph had a special place in his heart for animals. Throughout his life, he adopted several dogs and cats from rescue shelters.

There will be no public viewing or calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Hanover Green Cemetery. God be with you Joseph, until we meet again.
