John J. Kotz, 76, of the Honey Pot section of Nanticoke, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Guardian Healthcare, Sheatown.
Born April 10, 1945, he was a son of the late John and Florence (Retel) Kotz. John was a lifelong resident of Nanticoke and graduated from Nanticoke High School, class of 1963.
He married the former Rose Pekarofski on August 6, 1966.
Earlier in life John was employed as a welder for Air Products and later drove bus for Martz Trailways for 38 years until retiring and drove over a million miles accident free.
He was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke and Holy Trinity Church his entire life prior to the consolidation of the parishes; He also was a member of Honey Pot Volunteer Fire Company, the Honey Pot Club and Sons of the American Legion Post, Nanticoke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Kotz.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Rose; a daughter, Donna Supey and husband, Eric of Lehman; a son, John J. Kotz Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Wanamie; grandchildren, Alicia Prezkop and husband, Josh, Katie Supey, Brian Kotz and his fiancée, Kaylee Cromer, and Amy Supey and a nephew, Frank Kotz Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Nanticoke.
A Blessing service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
Entombment will follow in the Mary, Mother of God Mausoleum at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Family and friends are invited for viewing and visitation Wednesday from 9:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
