Jennie A. Rosencrans, 98, of Nanticoke, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023 at Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes-Barre following a brief illness.

Born July 24, 1925 in Glen Lyon, she was the daughter of the late John Morucci, who passed away before her birth, and Maria Gobetti Pavone. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Cesare Pavone and lived in Nanticoke her entire life.

She was married to Stanley Rosencrans for fifty-four years, until his passing on October 29, 2004.

Prior to raising her family, Jennie had been employed by the Duplan Silk Mill. She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Nanticoke for most of her life, and St. Faustina Kowalska Parish after the consolidation of parishes.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Stanley, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Rosencrans; a great grandson, Warren Graboske; son-in-law, Charles Graboske; brothers, Massimo and Ralph Pavone; and sisters, Irene George and Mary Hoopes.

She will be deeply missed by her daughers; Annette Graboske, and Donna Payer, both of West Nanticoke; grandchildren, James Rosecrans (Molly); Kimberly Levandowski; Tara Petroski (Edward); Charles Graboske Jr. (Rhonda); and Steven Graboske (Jamie); several great-grandchildren; two great–great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Pavone, Nanticoke; a sister-in-law, Louise Pavone, Kingston; as well as nieces and nephews and close friend and neighbor, Esther Williams.

Funeral services will begin 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. Richard Gyansah-Tabiri as celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Nanticoke.

Viewing and visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
