Jack Scally Jr., 58, of Nanticoke passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Slocum Township.

Born April 13, 1965 in Union, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Jack and Martha Moss Scally. Earlier in life he resided in Glen Lyon and was a graduate of John S. Fine High School, Nanticoke, and was a veteran, serving in the Army. Jack also had lived in Maryland and Virginia for several years, returning to the area in 2018.

He began his career in construction with his father and later became a self-employed general contractor.

He was a member of American Legion Post #350; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #834; the 400 Club; and the Quoit Club, all of Nanticoke.

In addition to his parents, Jack and Martha Scally, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Ruth Scally; Alvin Moss; and Fred and Mildred Moss Fuller.

He is survived by his sister, Beverly Figlerski, Nanticoke; nephew, Joseph Figlerski and great niece, Mia Hamilton of Nanticoke; nephew, Brandon Figlerski of Glen Lyon; as well as several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. Timothy Hall, pastor of Nebo Baptist Church, officiating.

Private interment will be in Sorbertown Cemetery, Hunlock Township.

Friends and relatives may call of viewing and visitation hours from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
