Irene Ruth Michalski (Baran), 86, of Nanticoke passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021, under loving care and compassion at Guardian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 6, 1934, in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Krucowski) Baran.

Irene was a lifelong resident of Nanticoke and attended Nanticoke School District. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker and loving wife and mother, she enjoyed a long career in factory production at the former Penn Footwear in Nanticoke and later at A. Rifkin Company, Hanover Township, from where she retired.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wilkes-Barre. Her priorities in life were her faith, family and friends.

She was warmly welcomed into Heavenly Gates, by her parents; her husband, Charles Michalski; sisters, Anna Krzyznieski and Mary Savage, and ex-spouse Michael Sedeski.

She will be missed by her daughter, Noreen and husband John Buckley, of Nanticoke; grandchildren, Meghan Buckley, her fiancé' Neal McMahon of Nanticoke; Devon Buckley, and his partner Joshua Schwartz of Nanticoke; brother George Baron, of Windham, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin 10 a.m. Thursday from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke followed by services at 10:30 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1000 S. Main Street, Hanover Township with The Rev. Joshua DeYoung, her pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Viewing and visitation hours will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until transferal to the church.
