Irene Gashi, 95, long-time resident of Bloomingdale, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Bonham Nursing Center.

Born April 15, 1927 in Fairmount Springs, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Spess Volanski.

Irene was employed in garment industry for twenty-five years, working at Amil's in Shickshinny and last at Karen's Sportswear, Sweet Valley, until retiring in 1990. She also assisted in the family timbering business earlier in life.

The last member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by brothers, Francis, Michael, Nicholas, John, Joseph and Andrew Volanski as well as infant sisters, Mary and Anna.

Surviving is a daughter, Evelyn (Eve) Gashi (Lawrence Joos) of Centermoreland, and a son, Albert Gashi (Lori) of Bloomingdale; grandchildren, Michael and Caitlyn Gashi; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. There will be no public viewing or calling hours.

Interment will be in St. Martha's Cemetery, Fairmount Springs.
