Helen A. Danowski, 91, of Nanticoke, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020.
Born June 9, 1929 she was a daughter of the late William and Martha Przybylowski Yachimowicz. Helen was a graduate of Nanticoke High School, class of 1947 and was active in class reunions throughout the years. She resided in Nanticoke her entire life. She was married to her beloved husband, Eugene S. (Bucky) Danowski for nearly 70 years until his passing on January 21, 2019.
A homemaker most of her life, Helen was dedicated to her home and family. She also had been employed in the local garment industry prior to retiring, and was a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke and a life-long devout member of St. Stanislaus Church prior to the consolidation of parishes.
Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, Eugene, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Bavitz and Celia Krupa.
Surviving are a son, Eugene Danowski and wife, Janice of Nanticoke; a daughter, Linda Kelly and husband, Lawrence of Tamaqua; grandchildren, Stephanie Pacovsky and husband, Thomas of Pottsville, Michael Danowski and wife, Carissa of Bethlehem, Maria Roman and husband, Jeffrey of Gallivants Ferry, SC, and David Wilkes and wife, Nikki of Trucksville; great-grandchildren, Olivia Pacovsky and Sophia and Nathan Roman and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin 10 a.m. Monday from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, primary site, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. James R. Nash, her pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nanticoke.
Viewing and visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until transferal to the church.
Following CDC guidelines, those attending are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
