George Patterson, of Nanticoke and long-time resident of New York, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at his home.

Born March 9, 1946 in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late John and Mae Effie Myers Patterson.

George was a graduate of Nanticoke High School, class of 1964, and a 1968 graduate of Princeton University.

He resided in New York, where he raised his family and worked at a career in banking.

George was a certified scuba diver instructor, a licensed boat captain, and had many interests and hobbies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter,Virginia Patterson; and his siblings, Luella Babey, Marvin Patterson, Vera Hall, and John R. Patterson.

Surviving are his partner Donna Henderson of Nanticoke, children, Jocelyn Patterson and husband, Nathan Maguire, of Virginia Beach, VA; George Patterson Jr. of New York, NY, and John Patterson of Rock Hill SC; grandchildren, James and Lucas Maguire; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial service and visitation will be held Saturday, November 22 from 10 a.m to noon from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.

In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory can be made to The Mill Memorial Library, Nanticoke.
