Genevieve F. Roke, 98, formerly of Glen Lyon, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Birchwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke, where she had been a resident for the past two and a half years.
A lifelong resident of Glen Lyon, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and
Frances Dvornicki Good. She was married to her husband, Joseph Roke. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2005. Together, they had two children, a daughter, JoyceAnn Roke Cummings; and a son, John Roke, who have both preceded Genevieve in death.
In her younger years, Genevieve was actively involved with the Girl Scout and Brownies
along with other church functions and organizations in the former St. Michael’s
Church, Glen Lyon. She also worked for the Department of Agriculture.
She liked to travel with her son, John, taking numerous trips to the Gettysburg
area, where they made many friends and acquaintances.
Genevieve is survived by her sister, Catherine Transue, several nieces, nephews,
cousins, friends, and dog, Ginger.
A special thank you goes out to the staff at Birchwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation
Center for the kindness and care they provided during her stay there.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. Brian F. Van Fossen as celebrant.
Visitation will be held in the Marian Chapel at the church Saturday morning January 24th from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Private interment will be at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, Nanticoke.
