Buchalski

Frank S. Buchalski, 94, life-long resident of Nanticoke, passed away unexpectedly Sunday January 16, 2022 at his home.
Born August 12, 1927, he was a son of the late Jozef and Frances (Zdiarski) Buchalski. Frank enlisted with the U.S. Navy, proudly serving during World War II in Guam. He attained the rank of Seaman 1st class and was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon and WW II Victory Medal.
He married the former Marion Gill on September 16, 1950.
Prior to his retirement in 1992, Frank was employed by Northeast Counseling for many years. He was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke and was a member of Holy Trinity Church his entire life. He was a member of American Legion Post # 350, Nanticoke, Washington Fire Co. # 5 of the Nanticoke Fire Department, Firemen's Relief Association, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He took great pride in Nanticoke sports, and especially his grandsons' sporting events, attending all their games and providing rides to and from practices. He enjoyed fishing and was well-known for his love of yard work and gardening. He was also an avid Notre Dame, Phillies and Cowboys fan.
He will be deeply missed by his family. Surviving is his beloved wife Marion, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage; his son, Frank Buchalski and wife, Carol of Port Charlotte, FL his daughter, Lisa Buchalski and fiancé, John Szklanny of Nanticoke; much beloved grandsons, Joseph Buchalski and wife, Kayla, Seth Buchalski and wife, Meagan, and Matthew Kruczek; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Harper, Ryan, Bryce and Ryder; and a niece, Debbie McDermott.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22nd at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke.
Friends may call at the church chapel Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Private interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
