Frances A. Mullery

Frances A. Mullery, 88, of the Lee Park section of Hanover Township, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, September 24, 2026 at her home. She was the widow of Matthew Mullery who passed away in 1991.

Born May 14, 1938 in Hanover Township, she was a daughter ot the late Francis and Anna Ribitski Rakaczewski.

Frances’ main interest in life was her home and family. She will be remembered for being a loving caregiver. Frances opened her home to any relatives needing a place to live as well as raising foster children throughout the years.

She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish / St. Aloysius Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Matthew, she was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Mullery; her brothers, Albert, Michael, and Joseph Rakaczewski; and a sister, Rose Stien.

She is survived by her son, Matthew Mullery Jr.; daughters, Ann Stewart and Margaret Munley; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother, Walter Rakaczewski; a sister, Donna Cool; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews, including, Marcus Bromack, who resided with her.

Viewing and Visitation hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 143 W. Division Street, Wilkes-Barre with the Rev. Richard J. Cirba, her pastor, as celebrant. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church Tuesday morning.

Private interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
