Edward D. Swicklik

Edward D. Swicklik, 89, of Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday evening, December 3rd 2025,at Lakewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Nanticoke.

Born March 1, 1936 in Glen Lyon, he was a son of the late Stanley and Helen Wall Swicklik.

He married his wife, the former Sylvia Wojciechowksi on June 3, 1961, together they shared 64 years of marriage.

Eddie was a graduate of Newport Township High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served on the U. S. S. Randolph and the U. S. S. Coral Sea Aircraft Carriers between 1955 and 1959, before his honorable discharge.

Following the Navy, he worked for local factories including, HPG International, Inc., Mountain Top, before retiring in 1999.

He was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, formerly Holy Trinity Church.

He enjoyed many hobbies, including visiting the casino, and watching sports. He particularly loved Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers football teams. Eddie loved working with tools, wood working, being a handyman, and took great pride in maintaining his property.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley and Joseph Swicklik.

In addition to his wife, Sylvia, he is survived by his sons, Stephen and Michael Swicklik; grandsons; Stephen, Victor, and Michael Swicklik; sister, Bernadine Betkoski; brother, Robert Swicklik; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Lakewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, for their care and compassion during Eddie’s time there.

A Blessing service will begin 11 a.m. on Tuesday, from Dinelli Family Funeral Home 170 East Broad Street, Nanticoke, with military honors accorded by the United States Navy to follow.

Visitation hours will be Tuesday 10 a.m. until services begin.

Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Nanticoke.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eddie’s memory to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
