Earl W. Becker Jr., 89, lifelong resident of Alden Station, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at his home.

He was born in his family's home in Alden, on December 8, 1933, a son of the late Earl W. and Alta Mae Woomer Becker. Earl graduated from the former Newport Township High School, class of 1953, and served his country with the Army from 1956 to 1958.

He married Ann Marie Harvey on January 12, 1957.

He was employed by J.L. Turner Company, Hanover Township for over forty years, retiring as Shop Forman.

Earl's main interest in life was his family; he was of Methodist faith and belonged to the former Alden United Methodist Church, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Becker on March 6, 2022; and a brother, Carl Becker.

Surviving is his wife, Ann Marie, with whom he shared sixty-six years of marriage; a son, Leon Becker; a daughter, Cheryl Becker, both of Alden; a daughter-in-law, Georgina Becker, of Wanamie; grandchildren, Dr. Tiffany Becker and fiancé, Ira Barth; Samantha Becker, Michael Becker and wife, Jordyn; and Matthew Wojciechowski; sisters-in-law, Janice Becker and Bernie Connell and husband, John; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at noon from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with the Rev. Michele D. Kaufman, officiating.

Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery mausoleum, Hanover Township.

Viewing and visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Earl's memory may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Joseph's Center.
