Doris Bonk, 80, of Glen Lyon, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Hampton House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Hanover Twp., PA.

She was born on October 25, 1943, in Lake Twp., to the late Floyd Alfred and Bernadine (Hummel) McRoy, Sr. Doris attended Lake Noxen School, and began a career in the garment industry as a "proofer" for quality control. She worked for Leslie Fay Company, Inc. and Glen Lyon Garment. She was a member of Outlet Free Methodist Church, Dallas.

Doris was best known for her warm heart, generous, kind, and compassionate spirit. She was selfless and caring, loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She will leave many fond memories for her family to cherish.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husbands Adam Joseph Baker, Jr. and Thomas Joseph Bonk, Jr.; sisters, Evelyn Musial, Ethel Hontz, Joyce Youngblood, Ruth Jackson; brothers, Wayne, and David McRoy; and daughter-in-law, Christine Baker.

Doris is survived by her beloved children Adam J. Baker III of Nanticoke, Carole (Louis) Shilanskis of Glen Lyon, Thomas J. Bonk III of Glen Lyon, Todd Anthony Bonk of Glen Lyon, and Lara Lea (John) Gadomski of Nanticoke. Also survived by siblings, Floyd Bruce (Elise) McRoy, Jr. of Harveys Lake, Beverly (Scott) Elliot of Dallas, and Phyllis (Scott) Yoh of Dallas. She will be missed by her 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke with Rev. Rocky Bonomo, pastor of Sweet Valley Church of Christ, officiating.

Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.

Friends may call for viewing and visitation on Friday from 9AM until the time of the service.
