Dolores Nearhouse

Dolores Nearhouse, 92, of Nanticoke passed away Thursday August 27, 2026 at her residence.

Born in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah West Pendlebury. She was a member of the former St. George Episcopal Church, Nanticoke.

Dolores’ greatest joy was raising her family and being a homemaker. She was a “grandmother to all”.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Nearhouse; her two sons, Edward Nearhouse and Mark Nearhouse; a brother, Ralph Pendlebury; sisters, Margaret and Gertrude; and a grandson, Eugene Nearhouse II.

Surviving are her sons, Eugene Nearhouse and his wife, Mary Ann, and Daniel Nearhouse and his wife, Colleen; daughters, Marie Craig, DebbyLou Amrowski and her husband, Julius, and Sarah Smith; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a future date.
