David W. Moyer

David W. Moyer, 63, of Shickshinny passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, under the care of Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes Barre.

Born January 22, 1962 in Nanticoke, he was the son of Carole (Ziegler) Rish and the late Delbert “Dutch” Moyer.

By the grace of God, David has overcome so much in his life. Among many other skills, abilities and trades, he was a dedicated, top notch truck driver, and worked for Eclipse Fleet Service in Nanticoke during his later years of life. David’s work ethic was extraordinarily superb. He was highly admired and respected by his friends, neighbors and co-workers who absolutely became his second family.

David was also a selfless, loving, doting son, taking good care of the many needs required by his mother who has a debilitating medical diagnosis.

David has always been super curious and constantly desired to learn new things. Since a very young child, he would take things apart just to see how they worked. He loved tinkering with and fixing anything and everything mechanical. He enjoyed drag races, rock and roll, rides on his Harley and going fast in his Cadillac CTS-V.

The family would like to sincerely thank David’s employer and work family for their utmost care and respect for David, and for loving him so well. They also thank David’s amazing neighbors and friends who have helped take care of many things when his illness would no longer allow him to keep up.

The family would also like to sincerely thank the staff of Allied Services Hospice for the gentle care they provided as David completed his life's journey.

David will greatly be missed by his family, friends and co-workers. He was such a big part of our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Allied Services Hospice or the Nanticoke Christian Fellowship Church in his honor.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 14th at 2:30 p.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke, with Pastor David Pegarella, of Nanticoke Christian Fellowship, officiating.

Visitation hours will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Private interment will be in Newport Cemetery, Newport Center at a later date at the discretion of the family.
