NANTICOKE
Cynthia E. “Cindy” Gulvas, 74, formerly of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Embassy of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre, where she had been a patient for over ten years.
A life-long resident of Nanticoke, she was born February 17, 1952, a daughter of the late Victoria “Vicky” Lyons Briggs.
She is survived by her daughter, Joelle Zakrzewski; a son, Darryl Gulvas and his wife, Jo Ann; grandchildren, Jiana and Kaitlyn Zakrzewski, and Corey Gulvas; a great grandson, Edward Dalmas; and siblings, Patricia, Dale, and Gary.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Allan Briggs and her most beloved cat, Cocoa.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 13th at 2:30 p.m. from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke, with Janelle Moser, Chaplain with Serenity Hospice, officiating.
Friends may call for visitation Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Nanticoke Cemetery.
