Carole M. Haverlak, Registered Nurse, 81, of Mountain Top, fell asleep in the Lord, late Wednesday evening, December 31, 2025, under the care of Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes Barre.
She was born at home in Glen Lyon, on April 27, 1944.
Early in life, her family moved from Glen Lyon to Lake Blytheburn. Carole attended St. Leo’s High School in Ashley, and graduated from St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes Barre, class of 1962. Carole had a long career and loved nursing. She and her husband, Gene, a career Air Force Officer, lived in various locations where she gained tremendous experience as an RN. Those locations included hospitals in Dayton, OH, Sumter, SC, and Denver, Co. before returning to the area. Carole’s professional dream was to become a nursing supervisor, a dream which she attained working for General Hospital as well as the former Mercy Hospital, Wilkes Barre, until retiring in 2006.
She greatly enjoyed spending time with many nursing support groups formed from friendships and bonds between nursing school classmates and friends from different locations where she worked. They met often and enjoyed spending hours together at luncheons.
To relax, Carole loved to knit Afghan blankets and give them to her many friends.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Edward Rozmyslovicz (Ross) of Mountain Top and her sister, Patrica Hill, and her husband, Robert Hill of NJ.
