Obituary

Carol A. Kirschner, 86, of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, November 25 th  2025, under the care of Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes Barre.

Born August 19 th  1939 in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Wojciechowski Vincent Sr..

She married John W. Kirschner on January 26, 1957. Together, they celebrated 28 years of marriage, until his passing on July 8, 1985.

Carol attended Nanticoke Area School. In earlier years, she was employed by the General Cigar Factory, Nanticoke. She later worked for many years for Techneglas Inc, until retiring in 2004.

Carol was affectionately known as "gram" and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was never too busy or too tired to babysit when they were young, and she was filled with pride and joy watching them grow. They were the light of her life. Carol also loved and cared for her many grand pets through the years. Some of Carol's favorite memories were made hosting Christmas Eve dinners with all her children and grandchildren gathered around. She loved the beautiful chaos of squeezing past the table to get to the refrigerator and adding extra chairs to the kids table as her family grew.

Carol also loved going to Dewey Beach every year. The annual car ride with her daughter Michele was a time of laughter, bonding, and several snacks. Despite her health challenges, Carol was sure to make it down to the sand one more time this past summer.

In addition to her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by all five of her siblings; brothers, Robert, William, and Jack Vincent; and her sisters, Mary Makos, and Ruth Oltra.

Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Steltz and her fiancé, Will Foronda, Robin Kessler and her partner, Chris Adams, and Michele Cassetori and her husband, Don; grandchildren, Heather, Shawna, Jesse, Wyatt, Brandon, Alyson, Camryn, and Dylan; great grandchildren, Bailen, Adeline, and Harrison; as well as several nieces and nephews; and her many friends at Austies Family Restaurant.

The family of Carol Kirschner would like to thank the staff of Wesley Village Rehabilitation for their care and endless supply of coffee. They would also like to sincerely thank the staff of Allied Services Hospice for the gentle physical, emotional and spiritual care they provided as Carol completed her life's journey.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family from Dinelli Family Funeral Home 170 East Broad Street, Nanticoke.
