Carl F. Peters, 81, of Slocum, passed away Monday morning, December 15, 2025, at Mountain Top Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after a period of declining health.
Born April 17, 1944 at home in Slocum Township, he was a son of the late Winfield J. and Hilda M. Stein Peters. He was a graduate of Newport Township High School.
Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged June 15, 1967, attaining the rank of SP4.
Carl had a long career working as a forklift operator for HPG, Mountain Top for 40 years before retiring.
He enjoyed frequenting flea markets, collecting, and antiques. He also, loved spending time at his condo in Titusville, Florida, during the winter months with his life long friend John Badman.
Carl was a lifelong active member of Slocum United Methodist Church, and Slocum Township Fire Company, where he donated his time assisting in all the fundraising events.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald W. on February 7th and Winfield L. Peters on October 27th of this year.
He is survived by nieces, Donna Lynn Myers and her husband, David J., of Dorrance, Wendy Peters, of Alden; nephew, Winfield Peters and his wife, Kathy, of Alden; great nephew, Winfield (Louie) Peters; and great niece, Chelsea Glaser; Glaser; and his companion and
buddy Flossie.
Funeral services will be held Friday at noon from Slocum United Methodist Church, 1185 Blue Ridge Trail, Wapwallopen, PA, with his pastor, Scott Miller, officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow in Emmanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery, Dorrance.
Viewing and visitation hours will be at the church Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke.
