Antoinette (Annette) Bonk, 65, of Nanticoke passed peacefully late Tuesday evening, January 30, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.
Born June 15, 1958 in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of Teresa Terkowski Bonk, and her father and best friend, Edward (Eddie) Bonk who passed away on May 5, 2014.
Antoinette Bonk was the owner of Bonk's Bar & Grille, Nanticoke, for 46 years. She enjoyed DJing and loved the outdoors, but was always up for a day of harvesting mushrooms. Annette took great pride and care in transporting special needs children for the Greater Nanticoke Area School District, even taking them for ice cream on occasion.
She was a devoted member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke, and also a member of Quoit Club, American Legion, 400 Club, Nanticoke, and VFW, Plymouth.
In addition to her mother, Teresa Bonk, left to cherish her memory are children, Jennifer Cino of Dunmore; and Sarah Bonk-Thomas and husband, David, of Nanticoke; siblings, Ronald Bonk and wife, Debbie of Nanticoke; and Richard Bonk and wife, Diane, of West Virginia; grandsons, Jacob and Nathan Steele; nieces and nephews, Kim Bonk; Kevin Bassett and wife, Charelle; Jason Bonk; Jeremiah Bonk and wife, Ashley; and Justin Bonk; great nieces and nephews, Austin Hill and wife, Catherine; Kayla, Kattie, and Matthew Bonk; and Sydney Bassett; an aunt, Theodosia (Lottie) Yaniga; cousins, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews, whom she adored.
In addition to her family and friends, she will be missed dearly by her animals.
Antoinette's family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. Paula Ronjon for her care for the last fourteen years and also Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, Antoinette requested donations in her memory be made to the Henry Cancer Center, Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, 1000 E. Mountain Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711.
Funeral services will begin 9:30 a.m. Monday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street, Nanticoke with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover Street, Nanticoke.
Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Sheatown.
Viewing and Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
